More evidence and opinions in the NYT that individual and industry efforts at conservation can make a significant dent in greenhouse gas production, and that the role of conservation is just as important as renewable energy sources…..i.e., “Efficiency is the steak,” said Carl Pope, executive director of the Sierra Club, “renewables are the sizzle.” The article in the NYT points to Vermont as one state that has been effective at encouraging both resident industries and individuals at reducing their energy consumption.
